Comment

Fireflies do the work of Michael Flomen: by night, he places an unexposed 8 x 10-inch film in the grass and waits until one of the glowing beings passes his negative. Since these animals glow in a rhythmic sequence, a pattern that reminds of drawings of dancing figures is created on the film. Therefore, the picture is titled “Two Step”. The firefly stopped in the middle and thereby created the brightest part of the picture because the negative was exposed to light several times at the same point. Dew and grass itself created the other formations that remind of frozen water.
