Comment

As in the Photo-transformations by Lucas Samaras, created in the 1970s, Zahornicky processes his Venice Polaroids with pressure during development, thereby achieving a painterly effect that corresponds to the subject.

These four Polaroids were taken on SX-70 film, which was not yet perfect at the time. The layers of the emulsion could be shifted with a fingernail or pencil, resulting in a painterly effect.
