Memories of Herbert List's pictures, which he called "Fotografia metafisica", are evoked in this architectural study by Erich Angenendt: the sharp evening light, which particularly emphasizes the plasticity of the architectural details on the right of the picture, in contrast to the unlit cypresses on the left. Both picture elements frame the view of the haze-covered landscape in the distance.
