Pairs, begun in 2004, is a collection of images that overlap, complement or resemble each other in form, content or context and are combined into pairs of images. The process of finding a picture begins with "seeing" and establishing a relation to what is "already seen". The finding of the complementary image part takes place on the one hand during the photographing itself - the time intervals and locations can be very long or far or even very short apart or close to each other - on the other hand, image parts are found during a later viewing of the archive.
