In the video work "59 Stellungen" (59 Positions) from 1992, Erwin Wurm had the protagonists climb into pieces of clothing, remain in various contortions and thus create structures in which their own physicality dissolved. The grotesque and absurd moments that resulted from this ultimately formed the prerequisites for Wurm's "One Minute Sculptures". This newly created type of sculpture plays with elements of the everyday and deals with reproducibility and interaction as a form of action and event. In this constellation, their media documentation using photos and videos formed a completely new interpretation of the concept of sculpture.
