The title "Straw Study" refers in an ironic moment to a method of painting where form and color arrangements are studied. Similarly, in photography, industrial mass goods are arranged in different compositions in a kind of experimental series. The objects thereby lose their content and function, become pure form and colour - decoration. They move between the abstract and concrete image plane, between painting and photography - and last but not least they testify to an ambivalence of consumer culture that oscillates between instantaneous fascination and endless accumulation.
