Comment
Since 1960 a poetic series of abstract, small-format photograms has been running through Neusüss' production, the so-called ULOs. ULO stands for Unidentifiable Lying Objects with which Neusüss approaches psycho-photography. Into these shadowy forms the viewer can interpret what he wants to see or not see at will. These ULOs now exist in real masses, and a European research institute to explore their secret meaning is already supposed to exist, an institute in whose foundation the mischievous self-ironic Floris Neusüss certainly had a hand.
