On Sunday, January 22, 2017, a plaque was unveiled at The Atlanta Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand.
It commemorates the stays of H. H. CAPOR in this hotel.
The hotel is from the fifties. Photos from the glorious past are displayed in the building and around the pool. Pictures that give insight into the behavior of earlier times: Ladies in cocktail dresses, gentlemen in suits. But the house has also seen other times, as David Jenkins reports in his guidebook. When I chose my picture, I referred to this and portrayed myself with a Thai. I had to rent another hotel as a studio for it, since Thai women. are forbidden to enter the Atlanta.
The shot was adapted to the existing faded images by photographing several times. To hang the picture, I unfortunately had to intervene in the architecture; the old wooden panel was easy to drill through and my picture was already attached. I am already curious if I will still find the picture on my next visit, or I wonder if I will ever get another room there.
