Comment

Dramatic landscape in front of Heligoland by Franz Schensky who dealt with his home island Heligoland over decades.
‘This is probably Schensky’s most popular shot of Heligoland. In an extremely dangerous situation during a severe storm he wanted to be rowed out to the sea to take pictures of the northern part of the island. The picture was awarded several gold medals.’ (Evelin Schultheiß, Das alte Helgoland photographiert von Franz Schensky, 2001)
