The title of the work alone describes the genesis of this photographic work. 45 steps, each documented by a photograph. 5 trees and a mast were passed and the photographer narrowly escaped the painter to step into a dog pile. The 45 photographs are arranged diagrammatically in the work, whereby the walked distance, due to a "blind" walking through the camera, is represented as a bumpy row of steps. Below the photographic representation, a bar chart is recorded, which describes the steps with black and white bars, with grey bars the trees and the mast.
